Larval Masks were inspired by the Basel Mask festival in Switzerland. Jaques Lecoq took these masks and used them to teach actors the start of expression.
These masks create a space of sensitivity and naivety.
Through breath, amplification of movement they introduce people to the silent world where characters come to life and communicate through movement.
With a mask we see everything, every movement, every expression, we learn clarity in movement, silence and experience the fun of telling stories using the body in space.
This is technical training for people who will use their imagination and play to explore the simple world of larval masks.
We will learn:
- Body and movement analysis
- Character building and
- The mask of the body.
Interested Participants will be required to wear comfortable black clothes to move in.
